Our April 17 meeting features a look at a relatively little known film technology with an interesting history, one that one of our newest members, Aaron Pierce, has been experimenting with lately. We will meet at our usual location, Corvallis Fire Station #5, 4950 NW Fair Oaks Drive, at 7 pm.
Also, we will finally return to our practice of “image sharing” at the very beginning of our meeting, so dig out your recent (or recently reconsidered) jpgs and prints to share. Prints are encouraged, but if you prefer the projection route, send me (Rich) your jpgs (no more than 3, sized to at least 1500 pixels on long side) by April 16.
During the program section of the meeting, following the business agenda, Aaron will talk about the unique characteristics and applications of a now discontinued film, Aerochrome, and how it has inspired a new copy-cat film called LomoChrome purple, which he used to make the two prints he submitted to our “Insight” exhibit (still on view at the LaSells Center). He will also share some photos he took using LomoChrome purple during a trip to the redwoods in 2022.
